The Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, is pleased to announce IISc Young Alumnus/Alumna Medal 2024.  Alums born after August 31, 1984 may apply. 

This Medal will recognize outstanding contributions made by IISc alums to their profession and/or to the society and/or to the Institute. Applications for this medal is open to all graduates of IISc below the age of 40 years. The winners will be honoured at the annual IISc Alumni Reunion to be held on December 20-22, 2024, in person at the JN Tata Auditorium, IISc campus. 

Applications/Nominations of women alumnae are particularly encouraged. 

Deadline for submission: August 31, 2024; 5:00 PM IST 

Please use this portal to apply/nominate for the IISc Young Alumnus/Alumna Medal.

Eligibility: Alums who are less than 40 years of age as on August 31 of this calendar year.

Instructions: You will have to register using your email id. Please check the activation link in your email. After activation, please log in again to download the MS Word application/nomination form from the portal. If you do not see this email with activation link even after a few minutes, please check your junk/spam folders.

1. The following information about the nominee must be completed in the MS Word application/nomination form (available to download from the portal):

• Key research/industry/professional contributions, Significance and impact of contributions, Major contributions to the Indian Institute of Science, Top 5 awards/recognitions, Summary of supplementary material (each section limited to 200 words)

2. [Mandatory] Two-page CV of the applicant/nominee. Include a link in your CV to a cloud-based folder containing the following optional documents:
a. Proof of date of birth
b. Up to two Support Letters from colleagues from the current/past organization(s), IISc faculty members, or IISc alumni, or other experts personally familiar with the notable contributions of the applicant.
c. Other Support Documents such as an extended CV of the candidate, newspaper articles about their work, list of patents, or any other information that may support the application.

3. You can use your own account of dropbox, onedrive, google drive (or any other similar platform) to create this Cloud Folder for sharing supplementary documents. Links to personal webpage, LinkedIn profile, Google Scholar page, etc. can be included in your CV. 

4. The completed document and the Two-page CV must be uploaded by logging into this portal. Email submissions are not accepted.

5. The committee will evaluate all applications received and the winner(s) will be intimated in the second half of October. We look forward to meeting you at the upcoming Alumni Reunion later this year. Kindly visit the website for details of events of IISc Alumni Reunion 2024.
