The Dr Tenneti Chandrakaladhara Rao & Vijayalakshmi Fellowship for BTech in Math and Computing has been established by IISc Alumnus Dr Tenneti Chandrakaladhara Rao (BE 1966 (ECE)) and wife Vijayalakshmi to aid undergraduate students at the Institute.
Eligibility
- Awarded to 1 student in the BTech Math and Computing Programbased on socio-economic necessity as per Institute norms.
Entitlements
- 50% tuition fee waiver of a single BTech student.
- Monthly fellowship of INR 7000 for the duration of the course.
Dr Tenneti Chandrakaladhara Rao & Vijayalakshmi
Dr Tenneti Chandrakaladhara Rao joined the ECE Department in 1963 and obtained the BE (1966), ME (1968) in Microwaves and the PhD in Antennas in 1973. He worked for a year in HAL Hyderabad and later did post-doctoral research in University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada. He taught briefly in Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida. Afterwards, he worked for Mission Research Corporation in Albuquerque, New Mexico and later in MIT Lincoln Laboratory in Lexington, Massachusetts. In 1983 he joined the EE Department of University of Massachusetts Lowell, Lowell Massachusetts and taught courses in Microwave Engineering, Microwave Electronics, Radio Frequency Circuit Design until his retirement in 2016. He was an Invited Scholar in 1992 and visited Gunma University, Japan and later as an Invited Speaker in UN Wireless Consortium in Ghana. In Boston area, he also taught special courses in Microwave Receiver Design, Microwave Amplifier and Oscillator Design for several microwave companies like Raytheon and BAE Systems.
Mrs Vijayalakshmi obtained MSc degree in Botany from Osmania University, Hyderabad in 1969 and worked for 10 years as a lecturer in Government College, Tanuku. After marriage, she obtained MS in Biological Sciences in 1986, Graduate Certificate in Computer Proficiency in 2000 from University of Massachusetts Lowell. She taught part-time courses in local colleges for many years.
