Prabakar Family Foundation Early PhD Awards

About

IISc alumnus Prabakar Sundarrajan (BE, ECE, 1981) has generously established the Prabakar Family Foundation Fellowship for early PhD students at the CSA Dept, IISc. In April of 2026 he further added another award for early PhD students at the ECE  Dept at IISc. 

In addition to this, in 2023, Mr Sundarrajan supported the top-up fellowship of an MTech student in the ECE Department for the duration of two academic years 2023-2025.

Prabakar is an IISc Alumnus, having graduated with BE in ECE. After IISc, Prabakar obtained an MS in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, USA.

Prabakar is currently Chief Strategist and Co-founder of The Fabric, a co-creation company that co-founds new companies in cloud and AI infrastructure.
Prabakar has a successful track record as a serial entrepreneur, having co-founded several successful companies not only via The Fabric, but prior to that, other startups including Ankeena, NetScaler and Exodus.

Prabakar has over 25 years of leadership experience in the hi-tech industry where he has held a variety of executive positions spanning engineering, marketing, and business strategy at companies such as Intel, Hewlett-Packard, Citrix and IBM. Prabakar has served on the board of directors and/or technical advisory board of several organizations (including IISc Artpark), and is a charter member of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), as world-wide entrepreneur mentoring organization.
