Fellowship for Women in Science

Undergraduate Program • Ongoing

About

This Fellowship was initiated by the IISc AANA Midwest Chapter in 2022 with an award of three fellowships to women students of the BSc(Research) program of IISc. Each student was awarded a fellowship for the entire duration of their undergraduate study. Subsequently, in 2023, three more fellowships were awarded.

The objective of these fellowships is to support IISc’s efforts in enhancing the number of women students enrolled in this program. IISc has started making additional admission offers to women students to enhance their ratio in various course programs. Efforts of our esteemed alums in establishing this fellowship is therefore deeply appreciated by the students and the IISc administration.

The primary goal of the team behind this establishing this fellowship is to raise an endowment to support at least three fellows annually through their studies, totaling at least 12 fellowships concurrently.

IISc AANA wishes to make this a global effort to champion the cause of bringing more women into science and technology. Our goal is to fund three fellows annually for four years, totaling 12 fellowships in steady state. To ensure sustainability of this effort, IISc AANA is setting up an Undergraduate Women’s Fellowship Endowment Fund at IISc. We need your help to reach our goal of a US $450,000 endowment!!
