Industry Sponsored Fellowships

MTech Fellowship Program by Zeiss Group

Artificial Intelligence is set to transform the field of eyecare by providing innovative solutions that streamline processes, increase accuracy, and improve patient outcomes. ZEISS and IISc have joined forces to explore and promote the use of advanced AI technologies in eye care. ZEISS is sponsoring 6 MTech students for the next 3 years through its CSR sponsored ‘MTech Fellowship Program’ at IISc. The fellowship is intended for M.Tech. students in Signal Processing, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science & Engineering, and Computational and Data Science.

Siemens Healthineers MTech (Bioengineering) Fellowship

The Centre for Diagnostics at Siemens Healthineers has funded an MTech fellowship in Bioengineering at the Indian Institute of Science. The fellowship offers enhanced scholarship to the selected MTech student and funds to support the collaborative project undertaken. Students get an enhanced fellowship of Rs 25000 per month. Aman Pawar and Abhinav Raghunath were the recipients of this in 2024 and 2023 respectively.

Siemens Technology India PhD Fellowships

Siemens Technology and Services Private Limited have established four fellowships to be awarded annually to PhD. candidates from the Centre for Product Design and Manufacturing (CPDM), and the Robert Bosch Centre for Cyber-Physical Systems (RBCCPS). The winners will be entitled to a fellowship amount of Rs 70,000, as well as travel cum contingency funds up to Rs 2,00,000. 2022 Awardees were Sangeerth P, Vaishnavi J, Himanshu Vishwakarma and Vinay Venugopal.

IISc-Achira Labs Fellowships

Achira Labs Pvt Ltd. has established an MTech Fellowship for students of the Bioengineering programme at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc). The fellowship is awarded to a second-year student pursuing Bioengineering based on CGPA score in the first semester at IISc and their motivation to work on specific projects. Students get an enhanced fellowship of Rs 24,800 per month. Rohitraj Ray is the winner for 2024.

IISc-Vantage MTech Fellowship in Bioengineering

Vantage Research Pvt Ltd has established fellowship for MTech students at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc). This fellowship is for students pursuing Bioengineering program at IISc. Students get a monthly fellowship amount of Rs 25,000 for 15 months and travel & contingency of Rs 60,000. Sayantani Garai was the winner for 2024.

CeNSE Fellowships

Multiple industry fellowships are available for students of The Centre for Nano Science and Engineering.

As part of the CeNSE MTech fellowship programme, there will be various engagements planned between the students and industry sponsors to enhance knowledge exchange and foster stronger collaboration. The fellowship will encourage students to think of challenges faced by the industry, research solutions, and open up internship opportunities for students to join the sponsoring companies. The students will get an opportunity to interact, learn, work, and get mentored by industry leaders from across the globe.

IISc-LAM Research MTech Fellowships

LAM Research (India) Pvt. Ltd has established top-up fellowship for MTech students at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc). This fellowship is for two MTech 2nd year students at CeNSE Department.

LAM India has been a part of CeNSE’s Industry Affiliate Program (IAP) since 2014 and is continuously engaging with the centre to collaborate on multiple innovative projects to advance the state of semiconductor technologies. The institutions of the fellowships reaffirms LAM India’s commitment to developing deeper industry-academia collaboration while creating opportunities for CeNSE students to acquire specialised skills leading to career opportunities in the wafer fabrication equipment (WFE) industry.

As part of the sponsored fellowship programme, second-year master’s students will be selected from the mechanical and electrical engineering streams of CeNSE. The selected students will receive an opportunity to conduct their MTech project on research topics related to LAM Research’s domains of thermal management, materials and coating, additive manufacturing, Equipment Intelligence®, and others, with CeNSE faculty advising on their dissertations.

The programme will help the students to bridge the gap between the foundation they have acquired in their undergraduate courses in mechanical, electrical, materials, and chemical engineering or physical and chemical sciences and the job requirements of companies in this area.
