The Indian Institute of Science was delighted to welcome its alumni back to the campus for the IISc Alumni Reunion 2023, on December 2&3, 2023.
Day one of the reunion began with the registration at the JN Tata Auditorium and three parallel sessions on Sustainability, Development in Quantum Technology and Vaccines respectively.
The post-lunch session kicked off with presentations by the Office of Development and Alumni Affairs, the IISc Alumni Association, the Office of Communications, and the Foundation for Science Innovation and Development. Then, Dr V Mohan from Dr Mohan’s Diabetes Specialties Centre virtually delivered the keynote address for the day on the topic ‘The glooming threat of Diabetes in India and how to address the challenge’.
After a brief break, IISc Director Prof G Rangarajan addressed the assembled alumni, updating them on the various developments at the Institute from the past year. The day’s events ended with the IISc Distinguished Alumnus/Alumna Awards Ceremony 2023 and a dinner hosted by the Director.
The events on Day Two began with an early-morning nature walk around the campus, hosted by Ms Subha Bhat and Mr Arun Upadhyaya. It was attended by around 60 alumni. After breakfast at one of the hostel canteens, the alumni indulged in a morning of fun with a game of cricket at the KV School Ground within the campus.
