About
Founded in November 1976 by Bharat Ratna Professor CNR Rao, the Solid State and Structural Chemistry Unit (SSCU) at the Indian Institute of Science (ISc) has emerged as India’s most prolific chemistry department. With a legacy of pioneering research at the intersection of chemistry, physics, biophysics, and materials science, SSCU continues to lead the nation in scientific innovation and academic productivity.
In commemoration our 50th year, this fund will:
- Provide named research fellowships for women scientists
- Enable access to cutting-edge research infrastructure
