About
Founded in November 1976 by Bharat Ratna Professor CNR Rao, the Solid State and Structural Chemistry Unit (SSCU) at the Indian Institute of Science (ISc) has emerged as India’s most prolific chemistry department. With a legacy of pioneering research at the intersection of chemistry, physics, biophysics, and materials science, SSCU continues to lead the nation in scientific innovation and academic productivity.
To commemorate our 50th year, SSCU is launching a scholarship initiative aimed at supporting meritorious students. This fund will:
- Provide research fellowships
- Enable access to cutting-edge research infrastructure
- Foster inclusive education and innovation
Contributions will directly support students and researchers, as well as create advanced infrastructure for training future scientists.
