We’re expanding our team and are looking to hire for the roles listed below. We’re seeking individuals with experience in these specific positions or closely related fields.

Alumni Relations

Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • Assist in developing a vibrant alumni-IISc ecosystem.
  • Develop and maintain systems, databases, web portal and social media account to connect with alumni.
  • Network with alumni in Bangalore and other cities to build a vibrant system focused on assisting IISc with development plans.
  • Organize alumni get-togethers, follow-up with alumni to develop partnerships with IISc.
  • Interface with alumni to channel their gifts to IISc.
  • Follow-up on alumni suggestions and references to other non-alumni contacts.
  • Identify key alumni/associates/friends in each industry/company/institution to help IISc raise funds for special projects approved by the Institute.

Educational Qualifications: Master’s degree in Engineering or Science or Management (MBA) after an undergraduate degree in Science/Engineering. Extensive familiarity with software such as MS Office.

Age Limit: 50 years

Required Experience: At least 5 years of experience in the corporate sector or academia. Candidates from industry should have experience in interacting with a global customer base and those from academia should have experience in managing alumni relations in a University or Institute of national repute. Candidates should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, networking skills and ability to organize events. This position might require travel to various locations.

Desirable Qualifications: As this position involves interacting with institute’s alumni/associates/friends in India and abroad and building a vibrant alumni and associates network, experience in interacting with industry leaders, high net worth individuals will be a plus. Familiarity with data mining methods will be desirable.

Corporate Relations

Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • Identify and secure new research projects and funding opportunities to support the institute’s infrastructure/academic/research initiatives.
  • Build and nurture relationships with existing project donors to ensure ongoing support and engagement.
  • Collaborate with research teams to align project goals with funding opportunities.
  • Develop proposals and presentations for prospective donors, showcasing the institute’s infrastructure/academic/research initiatives and needs.
  • Provide regular updates to donors on the progress and impact of their contributions.
  • Represent the institute in donor meetings, networking events, and other outreach activities to enhance visibility and credibility.
  • Network with alumni/corporate circles in Bangalore and other cities to build a vibrant system focused on assisting IISc with development plans.
  • Organize get-togethers to develop partnerships with IISc.
  • Interface with industry partners/corporates to channel their gifts to IISc.
  • Identify key alumni/associates/friends in each industry/company/institution to help IISc raise funds for special projects approved by the Institute.

Digital Media

Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • Content Creation & Strategy: Develop engaging digital content (blogs, social media posts, videos, and newsletters) highlighting the institute’s projects, milestones, and goals.
  • Digital Marketing: Plan and execute targeted campaigns to boost visibility, attract donors, and promote events or fundraising efforts.
  • Engagement: Foster connections with stakeholders, alumni, and donors by responding to inquiries, sharing updates, and encouraging active participation.
  • Storytelling: Capture and present ongoing research and projects through compelling narratives for outreach materials and media.
  • Collaborative Support: Assist the team in advancing the goals of ODAA, including fundraising initiatives and building awareness of the institute’s achievements.

Educational Qualifications: Bachelors’/Maters’ degree in Digital Marketing, Communications, Literature or similar areas. Masters’ degree in Science/Engineering, Public Health, Marketing, Communications or similar areas.

Required Experience: At least 5 years of prior experience in similar roles. Please include links to previous works/portfolio along with the CV submitted.

Desirable Qualifications: Proficiency in a few Adobe Suite tools (license to the Adobe Suite will be made available to you if needed in the role) or comparable open-source software is preferred, along with a basic working knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, and similar applications.

Important Note: Freelance, part-time, or pay-per-piece arrangements are available for this position, particularly for candidates with relevant experience. Compensation negotiable.

Admin/Accounts/Operations

Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • Work closely with Institute Finance and Account Department for timely issuance of Donation receipts & Utilisation Certificates.

  • Keep track of fund utilization in projects to ensure utilisation as per project schedule.

  • Assist with preparation of financial and accounting statements and reports.

  • Compile and prepare routine reports and summaries.

  • Bills, invoice, and PO processing, Bank Reconciliations.

  • Assist in preparing project budget for funding proposals.

  • Assist in financial documentation for donor due diligence and compliance.

  • Assist in handling internal and donor audits.

  • Query handling from internal Departments & Faculty.

  • Maintain confidentiality of all financial data.

  • Interpret and apply accounting policies, rules, and regulations to all work to ensure compliance with applicable standards.

Essential Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in commerce/Accounts/Business Administration or equivalent.

Required Experience: Thorough knowledge of (i) MS Office applications and (ii) SAP.

Desirable Experience: Knowledge of Govt. & Non-Government Grants Accounting (GFR & PFMS) is desirable. At least 1 year experience in an organization/unit with substantial emphasis
on finance and accounts.

Alumni Relations 95,000 + HRA per month
Development/ Donor/Corporate Relations 80,000 onwards + HRA
Outreach/Communication/Digital media

Other Terms and Conditions:

  • The positions are full-time, temporary, and contractual.
  • The contract is for an initial period of 1 year and may be renewed depending on IISc’s requirement.
  • The contract can be terminated at any time with one month’s notice on either side.
  • Since the positions are a contractual appointment, benefits available to permanent employees of the Institute will not be applicable.
  • Candidates will be short-listed based on their qualifications and relevant experience and interviewed at IISc Bangalore. Travel expenses will not be reimbursed.
