IISc alumnus Praveen Gupta (Batch of 1982) has generously established the Dr. Reeta Gupta WiSTEM Fellowship in memory of his late wife, Reeta Gupta. This fellowship is aimed at supporting women in STEM and will be awarded purely on the basis of merit to women students enrolling in the Master’s program in Chemical Sciences at IISc. The fellowship will be valid for the full two-year duration of the program.
Eligibility
- Awarded solely on merit basis to women joining the Masters program in
Chemical Sciences.
Entitlements
- Monthly stipend of Rs 7000 and reimbursement of the academic fees.
Dr. Reeta Gupta

Dr. Reeta Gupta taught Organic Chemistry to graduate and undergraduate students in the USA and India at various universities. Mid-way through her career, she transitioned to strategic executive and technical recruiting focusing on passive candidates globally leveraging her teaching and research background.
Reeta held a Ph.D. in Chemistry from A.P.S. University, Rewa (M.P.). Her research work was focused on “Kinetics and mechanism of oxidation of acetanilide by quinquevalent vanadium in acid medium”. She also held Masters’ Degrees in Environmental Biology as well as Chemistry from A.P.S. University, Rewa (M.P.) and Jiwaji University (Gwalior) respectively. She had also completed multiple certificate courses in the IT and Biotech fields.
