About
Established by Distinguished Alumnus (2020) Keshab Panda, this initiative awards three scholarships or fellowships to female undergraduate students at IISc, covering tuition fees and providing an annual contingency grant for four years. The selection, based on merit and need, is determined by the department head or a selection committee. If no eligible candidates are found, the scholarships may be extended to other deserving female students in engineering. This program reflects a commitment to supporting women in science and engineering.
Eligibility
- Awarded to three incoming women UG students
- Based on Highest rank in Entrance Exam/Highest TGPA in First-term or semester
- In absence of any qualifying female students, the scholarships can be
awarded to other deserving female students in engineering departments.
Entitlements
- Monthly Stipend of Rs 7000
- Annual tuition fee waiver
Dr Keshab Panda
Dr Keshab Panda is the former CEO & MD of L&T Technology Services Limited. He has been recognised for his exemplary contributions to engineering R&D, in particular for steering the growth of engineering services businesses such as Satyam and L&T. He has also been closely associated with leading industry bodies such as NASSCOM, CII and the Indo American Chamber of Commerce. Dr Panda graduated from IISc with an ME degree in Aerospace Engineering in 1985.
He was awarded the IISc’s Distinguished Alumnus/Alumna Awards in 2020.
