Class of 1967 BE IISc Endowment Lecture Series

1967 BE IISc Alumni Batch • EE, ECE, Metallurgy • Ongoing

About

On the occasion of Teacher’s Day, 5 September 2024, the IISc BE Class of 1967 came together to mark a special milestone and give back to their alma mater. For this cohort, 1 August 1964—the day most of them began their academic journeys in the Departments of Electrical Engineering (EE, then ET), Metallurgy, and Electrical Communication Engineering (ECE)—remains deeply significant. As the group celebrated the 60th anniversary of that formative beginning in August 2024, they collectively established the Class of 1967 BE IISc Endowment. This endowment will support an annual distinguished lecture, which brings together research experts from around the world, each speaking on a topic of broad relevance and curiosity. These sessions are open to all student and faculty across departments.

Along with this, the endowment also supports a travel grant to deserving students from the EE/ECE/Metallurgy departments at IISc. Such opportunities would allow them to stay in touch with research trends, gain a deeper understanding of their field of interest, and build fruitful collaborations with leading researchers worldwide.
