Game theory

The alumni of the Game Theory lab have come forward to donate some amount of money to set up an endowment whose interest proceeds could be used every year for a specific development or initiative. The endowment could be called “Game Theory Lab Endowment to CSA.” We now have promises for ₹19.9 lakhs which should reach the expected figure of ₹ 25 L sooner than later. We are hoping to collect this amount in time before the IISc Alumni Day on Dec 21, 2024.

M Satyam Memorial Endowment

Prof M Satyam, former chair at ECE, IISc, passed away on 28 June 2024 in Hyderabad. To pay homage, his students scheduled a condolence meeting on 23 August 2024 at the ECE Department, IISc. Some alumni and family of Prof M. Satyam also created a “Prof M Satyam Memorial Endowment” in his memory, which will be primarily used for travel support for students from the ECE department. Class of 1967 BE, IISc Endowment

The 1967 BE alumni batch of IISc, from the ET, Metallurgy, and ECE departments, has come together to create an endowment fund to support academic and professional growth. Their aim is to enhance learning and research through lectures by experts, travel grants for students, and sustainable corpus management.

Proposed Utilization of Funds:

  • Annual Lecture Series: Fund lectures rotating among the three departments every three years, covering speaker-related expenses.
  • Travel Grants: Provide partial funding for students attending conferences.
  • Corpus Reinvestment: Reinforce the corpus for long-term sustainability.
  • Unused Funds: Return any unspent funds to the corpus.

The initiative begins with the first lecture in late 2025.
