Office of Development and Alumni Affairs

IISc actively encourages students to attend and present their work at national and international conferences. Such opportunities would allow them to stay in touch with research trends, gain a deeper understanding of their field of interest, and build fruitful collaborations with leading researchers worldwide.

Support the professional development of students by sponsoring their requirements to attend national and international conferences and workshops, symposia and internships.

Named travel grants can be established with a one-time endowment of Rs 33 lakhs  (+5% for institute administrative overheads), which will ensure meeting the full travel expenses of one student for one international conference per year. Donors can also set up a one-time grant with a contribution of Rs 2 lakhs per student.

Smaller contributions will be accumulated under a dedicated travel fund until sufficient targets are reached. An Institute-appointed committee will oversee the beneficiary selection process.

The following named travel grants have been set up by alumni and philanthropists.
