Mr. Dheeshjith V. G. Gold Medal for the M. Tech. (Smart Manufacturing) programme at the Centre for Product Design and Manufacturing (CPDM) has been instituted by Mr. Dheeshjith V.G. through an endowment to IISc.
About Mr. Dheeshjith V.G. :
Mr. Dheeshjith is a Management Consultant in Leadership, new age Technology and entrepreneurship. He had a 30+ year career in Infosys, with the last role being the global CIO of Infosys. He was a member of the board of two of Infosys’ subsidiaries – Infosys Technologies (Australia) Pty Limited and Infosys Technologies (China) Co. Limited. Earlier, he was the Business Head of a unit that provides Consulting, IT and BPO services to clients in Asia Pacific, Middle East, Africa, Latin America and Canada and he was responsible for P&L, sales, marketing, delivery, and client & employee satisfaction for this business, and led a team of CEOs/Country & Regional heads.
Dheeshjith is a Distinguished Professional Member of ANZ India Business Chamber. He also served as a member of global client advisory council for a fortune 100 technology company.
Dheeshjith has received the Infosys Excellence Award five times for his contributions towards the Infosys Millennium Services unit, his role in enhancing client relationship management at Infosys, delivering outstanding client value and for the Best performing unit. He was honoured with “Chief Information Officer of the Year (Information Technology)” award at 2016 Leaders Awards (Enterprise Edition) by 24MRC network. Under his leadership, Infosys has been awarded as 2017 CIO 100 Honoree at the 30th Annual CIO 100 Symposium and Awards Ceremony at Colorado Springs, USA by IDG. He was awarded the “Most Admired Leader for Information Technology of the Year” at 2017 Leaders Awards in New Delhi by 24MRC network.
Dheeshjith has a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, specialized in Signals & Systems and has done his Master’s degree project in Artificial Intelligence in 1987. He has undergone several executive training programs such as “Effective Negotiating” with Dr. Chester L Karrass in 1997, “Leading Professional Service Firms” at Harvard Business School in 2004, “Client Relationship Management” conducted by the Managing Director of McKinsey & Company in 2005, and “Media & Presentation Training” from TJ Walker in 2006. He has also completed a special Management program on leadership with the late Jack Welch, legendary CEO of General Electric, titled “Two days with Jack Welch” in 2008.
