About Smt. Jayalakshmi and Late Sri. K. T. Venkataramchar

Smt. Jayalakshmi and her husband Late Sri. K. T. Venkataramachar always believed that education is a great enabler not only for success in life but also to draw out the innate capabilities of an individual. Their grandson is an alumnus of the Institute and a graduate from the first batch of the UG program.

Smt. Jayalakshmi took up a career as a school teacher during times when women hardly stepped out to work and her husband was a great support to her. They not only ensured a good education for their daughter but also supported her equally in her career.

This fellowship is to honour their commitment to education, especially to that of girl students.
